With a sales area of 673 sqm, the new supermarket offers a wide range of products, from food to hygiene products, detergents or household.
"This partnership is at the beginning of a collaboration that could be extended to other commercial centers," said Marius Ionescu, chief marketing officer of the company Winmarkt Management.
After opening Carrefour Express in Turda and Bistrita nextup is the opening of the shopping center Winmarkt Somes Cluj.
"We expect traffic on the ground floor of the shopping centers to be higher by at least 30% after the opening of Carrefour. In Bistrita and Cluj we have other stores on the ground floor, which will form a commercial gallery in front of the store," said Marius Ionescu.
Carrefour entered in Romania in the supermarket segment by taking the 21 Artima units from Polish Enterprise investment fund, which was later renamed Carrefour Express.
Winmarkt Network shopping center, consisting of 15 units in 13 cities, is owned by Italian company Immobiliare Grande Distribuzione (IGD), as a result from a transaction of 182 million euros in the first half ended last year with U.S. fund Broadhurst.
