Vodafone Romania is the first telecom company to launch its GSM network in Romania on April 15, 1997 and the first operator to introduce 3G services. Vodafone launched the first 4G network in Romania on October 31, 2012, with speeds of up to 75 Mbps. The first commercial services were launched on November 20, 2012, for both laptop and tablet users.
In its 18 years of activity, the Vodafone Romania Foundation has financed over 963 programs in the fields of health, education, social services, with children, young people, the elderly, the physically, socially or economically disadvantaged as beneficiaries. To date, the Vodafone Romania Foundation has invested 23 million euros in projects carried out by partner non-profit organizations.
